Two Die-Hard Foodies Take On The Whole30

DANA: Day 3

I am goddamn tired.
Not sleepy.
My body has no energy.
My body is ready — for bed.

Now, I had a pretty active day today and also ended up having no caffeine, so that’s part of it. But it was a normal-level busy day for me, not unusual at all. I didn’t work out. But the energy that I would usually have from refined sugars or dry carbs is just not in my body right now.

But I’m working at the theatre again, chillin in the lobby. And what I’m feeling right now is

“I JUST WANT A GODDAMN SNICKERS BAR SO THAT ORDINARY MOVEMENT DOESN’T FEEL STRENUOUS.”

But other than that…

Oh! Earlier today I tried spiralizing a sausage because I promised Trey I would try. And it… well, see for yourself:

Yeah, it, uh, didn’t go well.

Currently accepting all “just the tip” and circumcision jokes in the comment section!

But now, on to the food!

MEAL #1

Y’all, I have got this breakfast pretty much perfected. It’s the same thing I’ve had the last few days, made like I did yesterday, and this is how it looked. Getting the pre-cooked items pan-crisp and cracking the eggs over them is CLUTCH I tell you.

SNACK

It was a Maple Sea Salt Rx Bar. And I ate a few blackberries. I was in rehearsal and starving, but didn’t have time for a full lunch break. But once I did…

MEAL #2

Salad to go! Greens, bell peppers, guacamole, and a chopped turkey patty. And I have another ready to take with me during tomorrow’s rehearsal. I also had an orange. Bully for me. There were donut holes I did not eat. Grumble.

MEAL #3

That same ol’ butternut squash/asparagus/sausage item, reheated and on the go. That was at about 6:00, and I was way hungry.

And now I’m here, at the theatre. I’m not hungry. I am tired.

(Fast-forward to my arrival home at 10:30pm. I’m near tears hungry and cranky; had some tea and a spoonful of almond butter. And then posting that video took forever and I AM GOING TO BED.)
